An ox and plow move slowly and steadily over the dark earth. A man with a whip gently prods the animal to toil the rocky soil as his little children run alongside them. They pause in their play, as the deep rumble of our large bus pummeling down the road reaches their ears. Repair the World and Our Community

Hillel at the University of Washington has entered into an exciting partnership with the new national Jewish not-for-profit Repair the World.  Our shared goal is nothing short of making service and social justice synonymous with Jewish life for our undergraduate and Jconnect community.  This collaboration means a Campus/Jconnect Repair the World Director as part of the Hillel UW staff, Repair the World interns creating service programs and engaging their fellow students, regular volunteer projects throughout the year for grad students and young professionals, and immersion experiences locally and throughout the world to make deep connections and enduring commitments to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world).

Essential Wisdom to Heal the Planet

What's Jewish About Service?

We aim to make service a defining part of American Jewish life. Our work focuses on mobilizing Jews of all ages and backgrounds to serve with integrity and authenticity, ensuring that we leave the world a better place.  We’re focused not just on bringing more people into service, but also on making the service more meaningful with long-lasting results. By providing more — and better — opportunities to serve, we aim to unite American Jews in this shared value.
