Trouble in the Tribe: A Conversation with Dr. Yehuda Kurtzer & Professor Dov Waxman

Monday, November 18

12:30pm to 2:00pm
University of Washington Club
4020 East Stevens Way NE
Seattle WA 98195
Contact: The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, in partnership with Hillel UW and the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

FREE lunch at the UW Club on Monday, November 18!  Come hear Professor Dov Waxman and Dr. Yehuda Kurtzer in conversation as the address “Trouble in the Tribe”.  This is a unique opportunity to hear not one but two nationally recognized thought-leaders in a more intimate setting, alongside Jewish faculty and staff and local Jewish educators.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, in partnership with Hillel UW and the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, invites UW faculty, student leadership, and senior Jewish community educators to a seminar luncheon,

In this exchange between two thought leaders on the meaning of Israel to American Jews, we will explore the increasingly contentious role of Israel in the formation of American-Jewish identity, particularly among young Jews. To what extent is Israel becoming a source of disunity? What other modes of being Jewish are they exploring? And how does this impact the tapestry of American Jewish life, now and into the next decade?
