Hillel UW Café Staff:
If you enjoy feeding people, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and keeping spaces clean, this is the job for you! A typical shift in the café includes answering the doorbell and letting people into the building for yoga classes or other events, greeting them and helping them figure out where to go, etc. You will be responsible for keeping the café clean and organized, and offering snacks and drinks to students. Other responsibilities include stocking and organizing supplies, letting your supervisor know when they are running low, and logging food to ensure safety. Once a month, you will be putting on an event such as “The Bachelor & Chocolate Night”, “Adult Coloring” etc. You will also be responsible for ensuring the building is empty before you lock up.
If hired, the WA State Food Worker card is required (Hillel will reimburse you) and participation in a mandatory training session before your first shift.
This position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00-8:00 pm, beginning on Monday, September 23rd. You may apply for one or more days. SEE BELOW TO APPLY.
Hillel UW Front Desk Staff:
You are the first impression of Hillel when you sit at our front desk! A typical shift includes answering the phone, welcoming people into the building, organizing the copy room and letting your supervisor know when we are running low on supplies, keeping the reception areas clean and helping with mailings. You may be asked to work on any number of given projects – computer or otherwise – from the admin or program team. You may be creating spreadsheets, giving a tour of the building to a perspective student, or vacuuming the entry way. Every day is different!
If hired, participation in a mandatory training session is required before your first shift.
