Do Jews Count? A Conversation with David Baddiel

Thursday, January 26

12:00pm to 2:00pm
vitual
Contact: Jewish Family Service

Please join Jewish Family Service for a thought-provoking virtual event featuring David Baddiel, author of the best-selling non-fiction book Jews Don’t Count, in conversation with JFS CEO Rabbi Will Berkovitz.

David Baddiel is an accomplished comedian, author, screenwriter, and television presenter. Together, through a thoughtful dialogue, Rabbi Berkovitz and David Baddiel will explore some of the timely and powerful ideas embedded in the book, including:

* How antisemitism often fails to register as a cause for concern because it does not fit into traditional narratives and perceptions of racism.
* The ways in which antisemitism is often glossed over or is ignored.
* Confronting questions like, “Is being Jewish a religion, an ethnicity, or both?” and dissecting why the tendency to downgrade antisemitism to religious intolerance is harmful and inaccurate.

Attendees will have an opportunity to submit questions during the conversation.
