Learning at Hillel UW takes many different forms – we’re here to support you on your Jewish journey!
No matter your background or beliefs, Hillel UW’s cohort-based learning will give you access to richer conversations and connections with amazing peers. We believe in asking big questions and make no claims about the “right” way to experience Judaism. Our job is to provide you time and space to consider the questions and find your own place.

One of Judaism’s deepest-held values is mahloket l’shem shamayim — constructive disagreement with pure intentions that centers the preservation of the relationship between people.
Through thoughtful prompts and structured conversation, participants in the Disagreement Matters cohort will learn and practice critical skills for open and respectful dialogue. We encourage Jewish students from a wide variety of backgrounds and worldviews to participate; diversity makes the conversation stronger. During our time together, we may not always agree, but we will respect each other and approach with good intentions.
For the sake of continuity and building trust, we require participants to attend all three sessions. Thank you.
Dates: Wednesdays, April 29, May 6, May 13. Vegetarian dinner served from 5:30-6:00 pm; session runs from 6:00-7:30 pm.
