Introduction by Dr. Yossi Beilin, boardchair of Hillel Israel, an Israeli politician and scholar who was deputy minister of foreign affairs under Shimon Peres and minister of justice and minister of religious affairs under Ehud Barak, represented both the Labor Party and the Meretz Party in Israel’s Knesset and served in numerous leadership positions in the Israeli government. Beilin was the architect of the Oslo Accords and the initiator of Birthright Israel. He served as Global Distinguished professor at NYU.
