Passover Pop-Ups

Passover is coming! Swing by our campus Passover Pop-Up to pick up a box of matzah and get the scoop on all of Hillel’s Passover events.

We’ll be on campus on the days leading up to Passover, and you are welcome to stop by Hillel for matzah, too!

Sweet Traditions: Charoset From Around the World
Passover Learning with Rabbi Lauren
Thursday, March 12

What is Passover all about and why does charoset look different around the world? Join Rabbi Lauren for a hands-on Passover learning experience exploring the story, symbols, and meaning of the holiday through one of its sweetest traditions.

We’ll learn what Passover commemorates, why charoset is on the Seder plate, and make and taste test charoset recipes from Jewish communities across the globe.

Chocolate Seder
Monday, March 30

Join us for a Chocolate Seder! It’s like a Passover seder, but make it *chocolate*! Get in the spirit of Passover and learn more about the meanings behind our Passover seder traditions with this delicious chocolate-filled evening. We’ll be swapping out things like parsley and horseradish for chocolate-covered strawberries and sour candies. What could be more fun than taking the customs you know and love and dipping them in fudge?

Chametz Bonfire
Wednesday, April 1

1st Night Seder
Wednesday, April 1

Looking for a Seder that’s meaningful, engaging, and full of good vibes? Join us for First Night Seder at Hillel—a night of tradition, connection, and, of course, delicious food! What to Expect:
* Four Cups, No Waiting – We’ll keep your cup (and your spirit) full!
* A Feast Fit for the Exodus – Enjoy a delicious, Passover-friendly meal.
* Songs, Stories & Surprises – A Seder that’s interactive, thought-provoking, and maybe even a little funny.
* Your People, Your Place – Whether you’re a Seder pro or it’s your first time, you’ll feel at home.Come for the matzah, stay for the memories. This is the place to be for night one of Passover!

Passover Shabbat
Friday, April 3

Join us for a delicious, kosher-for-Passover Shabbat dinner!

On the menu: matzah galore, mushroom spread, mixed green salad, chicken soup with fluffy matzah balls, lemon herbed chicken, vegetarian option- quinoa and roasted veggies, roasted potatoes, candied carrots, and a delicious chocolate raspberry truffle cake

Passover Lunches
April 6 & 7

Passover Lunches are FREE for students with a current ID, but reservations are highly recommended, as we will very likely sell out.

Monday, 4/6 Menu: Matzah ball soup, gefilte fish, lemon herbed chicken, vegetarian option: stuffed portobello mushrooms, potato kugel, candied carrots with pineapple, hearts of romaine garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette, flourless chocolate cake, carrot cake, and macaroons

Tuesday, 4/7 Menu: Matzah ball soup, roasted salmon, vegetarian option: roasted vegetable and spinach frittata, mango cucumber salsa, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables with fresh basil, hearts of romaine garden salad with house dressing, raspberry truffle cake, apple rhubarb crisp, Leah’s macaroons

Breaking Bread, Mimouna Shabbat
Friday, April 10

Passover is over, so let’s bring back the bread at Breaking Bread: Mimouna Shabbat! Get ready to enjoy all the bread while learning about Mimouna, a post-Passover Sephardic tradition. Join us at 5:00pm for Shabbat Song and Prayer Circle before dinner!

Menu: challah, hummus, matzah ball soup, brisket (!!), veg option: Sephardic ratatouille with garbanzo beans, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with Julienne red peppers, mixed green salad, jumbo chocolate chip cookies with a season fruit platter, tea and coffee station
