Book Launch for PIRKEI IMAHOT: Wisdom of Mothers, Voices of Women

Thursday, April 20

7:00pm to 9:00pm
Hillel UW
4745 17th Ave NE
Seattle WA 98105

Join us for an evening of engaging with our tradition!

Come learn about this thoughtful new book, Pirkei Imahot, Wisdom of Mothers, Voices of Women, through an interactive discussion with the authors, Rabbi Eve Posen from Congregation Neveh Shalom in Portland and fellow congregant, Lois Sussman Shenker.

This book came about as Rabbi Posen and Lois Shenker engaged in months of one-on-one study together. Through an exploration of the ancient Jewish text, Pirkei Avot: The Ethics of the Fathers, this book gives a contemporary face to the text, in addition to the words of wisdom by 60+ Jewish women throughout the country.

During the event we will have the opportunity to discuss with each other and the authors some of the dynamic topics raised and discussed in the book.  Rabbi Posen and Lois Shenker will be available for book signing before and after the event.  Books will be for sale that night for $18 - cash or check only!  You can pre-order the book below.

This evening is co-sponsored by Congregation Beth Shalom, Temple Beth Am, Hillel at UW and Jconnect Seattle.  Please check out their website for more information:  www.wisdomofmothers.com

Please RSVP below.
