Breaking Closets: An Open Discussion on Jewish-Queer Identities and the Effects of the Israel-Gaza War

Sunday, December 03

10:00am to 11:00am
Zoom- register for the link
Contact: Hillel International + Rainbow Tour TLV

The events of October 7th in Israel and the war in Gaza have shaken the delicate mosaic of Queer Jewish identity everywhere. Israeli queers feel betrayed by the larger queer community who are ignoring their pain and queer Jews worldwide don't feel they have a safe space to offer complex views on the conflict in their progressive communities.

Hillels from across the world and Rainbow Tour TLV are inviting our Queer-Jewish student family to come together for an open discussion about queerness, identity and conflict. We invite all students for whom recent events in Israel have sparked within them a desire to discuss, and share feelings, and struggles. We will be joined by students living in Israel who will share their personal experiences and challenges living in the country in these times of war.
