The Role of Judaism in Humanitarian Work

Join us for a discussion that will challenge us to look at both our communal Jewish values and how to put Jewish humanitarian values into practice.

We will be joined by Rabbi Dr.  Yossi Ives who is the founder and CEO of Tag International Development, an NGO that shares Israeli expertise with developing countries, as well as Tag Institute for Social Development, a think tank and research centre that addresses contemporary social challenges, integrating insights from Jewish texts and practices. There are not many rabbis who help provide cleaner water in Myanmar or first-aid training to wildlife rangers in Kenya. In his role with Tag International Rabbi Yossi Ives has led projects such as these, but also as diverse as creating safe play areas for children in landmine-affected areas of Azerbijan or improving medical services in Indonesia.

Rabbi Ives is the author of 5 books on Jewish values, Jewish mysticism, relationships and coaching and he has commissioned, co-authored and overseen multiple studies and projects that apply Jewish Social Values to real world challenges.

Lox & Learn is open to all, but please RSVP below so we can order the right amount of food!
